Laurie Cansdale, of Writtle, died yesterday evening, aged 75, after five years of living with a succession of types of lymphoma. Pioneering treatment and excellent care at Bart's Hospital gave him a few more years of reasonable health in which to enjoy time with family and friends. The end of his life was made more comfortable by a month spent in Farleigh Hospice, followed by six weeks in Cherry Wood Grange Care Home, where he died.
