The Essex Association of Change Ringers   President: The Right Reverend the Lord Bishop of Chelmsford

In September 2013 I was contacted by producer Hannelore Hippe about making a programme on change ringing for German radio. The programme was recorded at Coggeshall on Weds Oct 23rd, and broadcast on Sun Dec 15th. The broadcast can be accessed using this link — just scroll on the programme list back to the broadcast for Dec 15th.

Jochen Culemann, a Coggeshall ringer, has prepared an English translation of the script which can be accessed here. There are the inevitable few inaccuracies, but knowing nothing about change ringing, and working in a foreign language, I think Hannelore has done an excellent overall job in giving the German audience a very good idea of what change ringing is about.
