News from Central Council P R Committee
A message from the Central Council Public Relations Committee
Dear Secretaries and PR Officers of Central Council-affiliated societies
Regular PR updates
We are aiming to send out regular updates from the Council's Public Relations Committee to your PR Officers so that your societies are aware of the work and the thinking and planning that is going on between Central Council meetings. Please do pass this email on to your association mailing lists so that as many ringers as possible can be aware of current topics and things where they can join in and contribute. This is the first of our regular bulletins and feedback is very welcome so we can focus on things that are of use and of interest to you and to all ringers. Please do let me know what you would like to hear from us.
Christmas and publicity
I expect all ringers are well on with their plans for Christmas ringing. Have you thought about generating some local publicity for your ringing? Christmas and bells go together very well of course, and many local papers put their Christmas and New Year editions together quite a long way in advance as so many of their reporters are off over Christmas, so a topical local article submitted in very good time stands a good chance of publication. Even better if you can send a suitable photo for publication. If you are using your article for recruitment purposes as well, do focus on what fun ringing is and how well-suited it is for the young to learn to keep alive a traditional and fascinating hobby.

Central Council PR Officer
You may have heard that the Council is seeking to recruit a Public Relations Officer and we are advertising for someone to fill that post now. Here is our advertisement. Please do circulate this widely around your association so we can find the right ringer with the right skills.
With all very best wishes,
Kate Flavell
