As you know, nominations for Association Officers (Master, Secretary, Treasurer, 3 Property Trustees, 2 Independent Examiners, Education Officer, PRO and Technical Adviser) must be received by me by 1 February 2014. Nominations may be made at a district meeting or can be sent directly to reach me before the deadline. Please refer to the nomination form. Nominations MUST be received for each of these offices, even if it's just for the current post holder to continue.

I am aware that the Association Master, Brian Meads, is not standing for re-election in 2014 and we currently do not have a Public Relations Officer, so would encourage nominations for these two posts especially.

If you are interested in any of these posts, or you know someone that would be good at it, please take a look at the job descriptions on the website, speak to the current post holder, or myself, Brian or Andrew.

Motions for the AGM

Notices of Motion for the AGM (items for debate or proposed rule changes), sponsored by at least 2 members, must also be received by 1 February 2014.

Names in the Annual Report

The Annual Report lists members using their initials and surnames. In order to distinguish gender, particularly where two members who have the same surname also have the same initials, a prefix is usually used to distinguish female. If however, members wished to have their names written in the Annual Report in full, or in any other format, they have the option to do this. This would be reliant on the right information being provided to the Report Editor.

If you would prefer your name to be shown in a different format please ensure you advise your District Secretary/Treasurer so that when they gather the information for the Annual Report, they can forward on your preference.

Life Vice President Nominations

Nominations for Life Vice Presidents can only be put forward at the February Management Committee meeting and should be done so without the prior knowledge of the nominee and should not be discussed at District Meetings. All nominations for Life Vice President including details of the work of the nominee, together with the names of the proposer and seconder shall be submitted to the Secretary in writing by 1st January for review at the February Management Committee meeting. Nominations shall only be put forward to the Annual General Meeting in May if not less than four-fifths of the Management Committee members present vote in favour.
