Essex Trophy
On a very rainy Saturday 14th September teams from Essex, Guildford, Kent, Surrey and Sussex met at Beddington in Surrey (18-0-14) for the Essex Trophy. The test piece was half a course of Lincolnshire S Royal. The judges were Lee Pinnington and Mark Place. There was plenty of cheese ploughmans, cake and beer on offer to keep us sustained throughout the afternoon. At 12.30pm the draw took place however, none of the bands were complete at the time due to traffic problems getting through the town. Essex were drawn 2nd but as we were the first complete band, we rang 1st whilst everyone else waiting for the rest of the team to arrive.
After a short deliberation, the judges announced the results as follows:

| 2nd | Surrey A | 68% |
| 3rd | Sussex A | 62% |
| 4th | Essex A | 59% |
| 5th | Guildford DG | 58% |
After a short meeting to discuss arrangements for next year's competition, Kent offered to host it on 13th September 2014.
