The Essex Association of Change Ringers   President: The Right Reverend the Lord Bishop of Chelmsford

I am sad to report that Billy Holmes of Great Leighs passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. Billy, who was in his early 80s, had recently been unwell and in Broomfield Hospital but died in his own home. Billy was a bellringer at St Mary the Virgin, for almost 70 years, many of them as tower captain.
