Five Rings Triples at the Southbank Centre Saturday 14 July
A message from Kate Flavell, President of the Central Council
You may remember that there is to be a big Event at the Southbank Centre on Saturday July 14. Over that weekend all the 20 new pieces of Music that were commissioned as the New Music 20X12 Project are to be performed. Five Rings Triples is one of those 20 pieces. There is to be a mini-ring campanile (the Willoughby Campanile) outside the Royal Festival Hall on the Saturday where ringers and the general public will be able to have a go and there will be the main "performance" of Five Rings Triples at 2 pm.
Ringers will be needed to help with the "Have a go" sessions and to hand out leaflets to the public and to chat to them to get them interested in ringing. It is a wonderful publicity opportunity for ringing. It would be great if you could please circulate your associations by your own websites and distribution lists and invite your members to come along to help and to have a go. Please ask ringers to come between 12 noon and 4 pm, and to be there to support the performance at 2 pm! They may even like to see other performances taking place throughout the day in the Southbank Centre.
More info about New Music 20X12 can be found here.
I look forward to seeing as many ringers there as possible! Very many thanks for helping to publicise this event, and all best wishes,
Kate
