Edna Chalmers
Edna Chalmers, who died this week, was a ringer at Terling some 25 years ago. She was a keen and loyal member of the band. However, Edna was forced to cut short her tower bell ringing as arthritis developed in her hands. She was always very keen on handbells, and in fact bought her own set, and so she transferred her interests in ringing to handbells. Edna also went into schools and taught children to play bell-plates, and she was, of course, a keen member of Sound in Brass for many years.
The funeral is next Friday, 14 September, at the URC Church in Witham at 3.00 pm.
